Route 66 Warranty
Can anyone give me some feed back on Route 66 warranty. I have a chance to purchase a 6yr warranty for my new 5th wheel for $1700.00. Is it worth the money?

Since I own a service policy, it is obvious that I think it is worthwhile. As has been stated on the forum before, it is not the price that should be the driving motive for buying a service policy, but how the provider relates to the repair facility. For that information, you need to talk to the service manager (not your salesman) of your dealership to determine whether they have good claims experience with Route 66. It might be wise to check with more than one RV dealership.

I have a RT66 warranty. It is Assurant, same people. The dealer that I bought my Monty from is a Rt66 dealer. The warranty can be used at any dealer that will accept it. Yet there are Rt66 dealers nationwide. At a Rt66 dealer your deductable is less. You are also given preferrential treatment same as if you had purchased from that dealer. You also receive a 10% discount on anything you should buy there. Only used it once and was pleased. They sell for about $3500.00, so if you can buy it for $1700.00 so much the better. The price is negotiable. I also work part time at the dealer so I was able to get it for a few but not many dollars less than 17. I recommend it to all my customers because you cannot buy a fridge for the same money. Since we also sell them on used units I have some opinion that you might be able to renew at the end of 7 years although I have not researched it.

We purchased our Rte 66 when we got our 2010 Montana. Haven't used it yet, knock on wood, but am confident in the package. Six of one, half a dozen of the other on plans, but like lsessoms said, try replacing the fridge once. It's an insurance policy if you want to look at it that way.

We are getting ready to use our RT66 Warranty. We need a slide and both grey water tanks worked on. Buy the "Plus Plan", otherwise your slides won't be covered. As we are home for a few weeks, we aren't in that big of a hurry, but the dealer, not where we bought it, was willing to get us in immediately if we had wanted. That, already, seems pretty good to us.
