Need info on Warranty Co
Looking to purchase an extended warranty for my 2015, 3582RL, and have looked at various plans including GS. My dealer uses Repair Care ($50 deductible) written by First Colonial n Northbrook Indemnity, both part of the Allstate Family. Also have a quote from Wholesale Warranties ($200 deductible) who uses Virginia Surety. Both plans seem to have a more inclusive coverage and some what less expensive than other plans. Anyone had any experience with either of these companies??

Wholesale warranties is a Insurance broker not a insurance company they sell several companies policies. We purchased a RV shield Policy through them on our 2006 3400 and used it several times with no problem. We now have the GS ESP on the 13 3402 and have use it once with no problems.

Yes we purchased a policy through Wholesale warranties. Make sure you know and check out the policy they sell you.

Rich, The company Wholesale is promoting is through Virginia Surety. I bought my unit in Elkhart after the rally and it appears what they are offering, with a $50 dollar deductible, provides more coverage at a lower price than any other company. It's called Repair Care and written through First Colonial or Northbrook Indemnity. Both are members of Allstate Family.
I know a lot of members purchased Montanas at the same dealer n was wondering if they took the same extended warranty and results.

As you are doing check the financial backing of the policy. Get a copy of the policy to see what it really covers. Ours was a RV shield policy through Wholesale warranty. It should be "exclusionary" that is it clearly states what IT DOES NOT COVER all else is covered. You might want to call wholesales warranty it might be even less directly from them.
If it is backed by allstate insurance that is a good sign .We found that GS covered all that RV shield covers and we could get it f or a shorter period.

just my opinion is an extension is a waste of money. put the money in a bank acct. and use that for your repairs. many of the problems you will have over the next 5 to 7 years will not be covered anyway.

Mazboy..Your statement may not be accurate. ALL of failures we had on both our Montana' with two different Warranty companies were covered. It is a matter of choosing the right warranty. G.S replaced both our failed tanks on this 2013 Big sky at a cost of 1077.00 cost to us 100.00. the G.S ESP cost us 925.00 for a three year policy. We have two more failed tanks to be replaced under the warranty.
Our first warranty with RV shield cost 2100.00 for 7 years coverage and they covered all failures for much more than the premium coats.

Is there an advantage to getting an Extended Warranty on a 2015 unit? Is this for year 2? Are you already at the end of year 1? I was assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that I'd ride out year 1 on the manufacturer's warranty and then apply an Extended Warranty for years 2 and forward.

we got our EW at month 10 of ownership. If you feel the RV will have no major high $$ failures during your ownership the EW will be a waste of $$$. Check out the cost of the major appliances , holding tank replacement, Roof repairs, Etc.
Read through this forum and other manufacturers forums and note the types of failures.

These warranties state 7 years from the date unit was put into service which at most is 6 years as Mfg warranty for first year and some OEM warranties for 2 years. My dealer said his price was good as long as we apply before the 1st year is up GS and some others hold their price for a short period from time of quote.

Rich, I agree with you. This my 4th Keystone RV and 2 of them Montanas. Did not have the other 3 back to dealer for warranty but already have a list of more problems to be repaired on this one than the other 3 combined. Going in shop for warranty work in June. Believe over next 6 years $2000 will not cover the break downs I will experience

I will get the extended warranty before my year is up. Approved Dometic repair service just left. Fridge has quit. Freezer is some what working but rest is dead. Service guy says either the temperature sensor is not working or cooling unit is gone. Will know tomorrow when they come back and check the unit based on some rigging they did.
