Holding small nails
My fingers are always in the way when starting small trim nails or screws, years ago I learned to put them in teeth of a pocket comb to get them started. I have special tools for this or a needle nose works but they are never close when I just need to do a few fasteners. Of course it won't be much longer and I won't need to carry a comb either!

Fold a scrap piece of paper then push the nail or screw through it near the fold. After you've driven the fastener, rip the paper off. This trick works really well most of the time. Good luck... Walt

Wow, such great ideas;
I can’t believe I’ve not herd of that!
The only one I knew about was using the wire nose pliers.
Oh, I do still carry a comb but I don’t need it as much as I used to, imagine that!

I have my wife hold the small nails for me.  If you dont have a comb because of hair loss a nedel nose pliers works good too.
