Emergency Road Service Programs
Has any used the Good Sam Emergency road service? I am getting mailing from them, it sounds intresting but would like if other owners have used this one or others and with what results.
THanks

Buck ... we have the Good Sam Emergency Road Service and, unfortunately, we've had cause to use it. From our experience, it is everything it is advertised to be. We had it prior to full-timing and, if you plan to full-time or long-time, I think the peace of mind it provides makes it definitely worth the expense.

I have also had the misfortune to use their service and I won't be without it. Not only do they come out promtly but the representative you speak with calls and verify's when they are on their way and keeps track when the work is completed.

Ditto..We also have used Good Sam Emergency service a couple of times and wouldn't go without it. Both times they were there to change a tire in a very short time.

I have ERS with AAA RV Plus. I still use a lot of the AAA service for free Trip Maps, Area tour books, and travelers checks. If I didn't use these services I would probably be with Good Sam as a lot of people say they are good. I did use my services twice once for a flat on the RV and once for a lock out of my truck. Both times they handled my problem in a timely fashion.

We recently made the decision to insure the 5er with National Insurance. They offer 24 hour roadside assistance for $50. annual.
Their brochure seems to offer all assistance needed. Anyone have experience with Continental Car Club?
I am sure Good Sam ERS is excellent....I planned on going with them prior to the offer from National. Thanks,
Weldon

For 18.00 yr. we have roadside service with our regular home owners and auto insurance. Had Good Sam last year, did not use it so did not renew.
$100 year a little pricey I think.

I also have Good Sam but fortunately I have not (knocking in wood) had the occassion to use it. Unlike many of the other plans, I have yet to hear anyone with Good Sam ERS complain about the service they have received. 3 couples we met required the Good Sam CRS services over holiday weekends. Even on holiday weekends the Good Sam people were very prompt and courteous and considering it's a holiday the towing services were there quickly and professionally with equipment designed for the job.
Don't know what road service they had but just last May we passed a broke down Class A. We later met the couple in the campground. The towing service apparently sent out a roll back to bring the Class A into the shop. Can you picture a 36 foot class A perched on a 20 foot roll back? Well neither could the owners so they sat another 2 hours waiting for a real tow truck.
We had AAA but after hearing only great reports we went over to Good Sam ERS. We also carry Allstate Insurance on the TV but my agent, who happens to also be an RVer, quite honestly said that they could not compare to the Good Sam services. Don't get me wrong, AAA and Allstate have good plans but not as good as Good Sam.

Just used it last week and service was very prompt. We have no complaints, they also check to make sure you are safe.

You are right. I forgot to add that. While we waited, they called back two or three times to make sure we were okay. That is a really nice service.
Happy trails..............
