If there is leakage past the check valve in the pump, pressure will drop and the pump will cycle until pressure is back up.

Is it pumping water? When you cut on a water valve does the water come out? If so how much pressure does it have?

You need to check the connections to your pump and also look in the convenience center and see if when your pump is running there is a small amount of water leaking from you city water connection. The city water connection also has a check valve in it and if it fails it will cause pressure to drop and the pump to cycle.

Water pump noise

Sounds like the pump is running. Can happen when there is water running or not.Hooked to city water or on tank using 12 volt pump. This happens when the system is pressurized by by either system.

Could there be a check valve of some sort in the pump? After checking all switches and wires,I cut the wires to the pump.Problem still there.Maybe try a new pump. Can't take the noise.

Water pump

Hi we had a similar problem and it was because I had accidentally left the water valve turned to the fill position if I remember correctly. Check how you’ve got the valve switch settings.

There is a check valve in the pump. If your trailer is connected to city water and the check valve fails, water will fill up your fresh water tank over time. This happened to me and I replaced the pump. Check your fresh water tank level.

In our 10 yr old Montana Mountaineer, if we turn on the water pump while the city water connection is connected and pressurized, the pump will run continuously without any faucets being open. It has done that from day 1 when it was new. Don't know where water is going when it does that. I just assumed it was causing a circular patern where it was just running thru hoses and back thru the pump. We never see any leaks in or outside of the camper while this is happening.

We had the issue of the pump cycling. I traced it to me leaving the valve to fill my fresh tank open rather turning it back to city water which prevents air getting into the system forcing the pump to run.

If you cut the wires to the pump, then the pump isn’t running on air. There must be something else making some noise, so the focus should be away from the disconnected pump.

If you have disconnected the water pump wiring and you still hear the noise, maybe pull the fuses one by one until it goes away.
Any chance it could be your converter fans?
