Can someone provide details on the exact type of 3m automotive tape that was used. Amazon shows several different types. DW got me a $50 amazon code for Valentines, and I know what I am getting with it!!

Jim is correct, however is you level them in the on condition and kill the power they come back on in that same state. That is why I will power mine off the motion detection light and use them as my door/porch light.
Safe travels.

I am not sure, I guess the computer box leaves them in the state when power is killed. When power is applied they come back to that state.
My inside ones do come back to the last color or application state when turned back on. Not sure how long they would hold that pre configured state if put in storage.

Trying to keep this thread going so those taking and posting pictures will have time because of the weather. My LEDs and tape came yesterday. I love Amazon Prime.

Joe,
What year and model is your trailer? I might be able to give you some pointers as I've done several of these installs.

Thanks Jim. I have a 2013 3725RL. With a 19' awning, the porch light is a perfect connection point. I just need to know how others mounted the white RF box, how close to the awning, and the entry into the porch light fixture. I included my signature, so you can see the RV.

I ran the power wire for the lights down the awning channel and ran the wire in where the power cord for the awning entered the trailer. From there, depending on the model, depends on where you can pick up 12 volt power. I ran mine directly to the fuse panel but it can be tapped into any 12 volt source.

Joe,
As noted in my signature, I have the 3800re and will be installing this light arrangement as soon as I get the extension cable between the light and the LED control box. This extension will be routed to and down the right awning support bracket which includes the power cable for awning. You can route this extension cable via the same hole the awning wire is routed. You may have to drill a hole in the wall between the front storage area and the main basement area. Once you are in the basement you have the choice of using the 12 DC voltage or 120 AC via the adapter. The control unit can be mounted on the ceiling of the basement, in a location for clear reception of signals from the remote control transmitter.I visualize this installation will be free of any exposed wire connection.

Hi John, I mounted our control box outside, the infrared has to see the remote. The transformer is on the inside on ours as we are plugged in to 110. I thought that for the very rare occasion that we boondocked, we could do without. Also it was easier!

This link shows the LED lights installed. I have the strip 3/4 inch below the awning mounting bracket. Others have them up to 2 and 1/2 inch below the awning mounting bracket. The awning does not touch the lights when closed. I wanted accent lighting when the awning is closed. We have a 3850 and I am powering the lights hard wired to the outlet in the bathroom.

Thanks, George, exactly what I needed. I think I like your installation so the lights are more accent lighting. Would love to see some pictures of those that wired their lights to the porch light. Maybe John will send his connection. Thanks again.

We all need to help John Kohl find his LED lights! After helping others install the lights he forgot where he put his for safe keeping! Anyone see John's lights? Maybe we can start a fund to get him some replacements? Any suggestions or recommendations?

I finally got my LED lights up, here are the pictures, first two show how I hook up to power (John Kohl method I think). There are many other colors, but here are Blue, Green, and Red sample:
