This only applies for folks who have a small TV in the bedroom. We realized that there is about a 7 inch clearance above our small TV in the corner cabinet. Glen put in a plywood shelf above the TV. It's about 17 inches on one side and 13 inches on the other (right) side, just large enough for about three pairs of his size 13s. We've wondered where he could store extra pairs of shoes without taking up half the closet. This seems to be a great solution. He tilted the shelf back just a little so the shoes will be less likely to take off on their own. Now I'm going to put up a little valance to cover the space so we won't have to look at his shoes while we're watching TV.

I also had put a shelf there but used it for a DVD player.

That sounds like a good idea, too, Rodger. We'll probably change uses for it many times, as with most other spaces. It does make a nice big shelf.
