Hot water..Lets see if I understand?
Got out the Manual today to look up info on using the water pump, (now that I have one) which took me into reading about the hot water heater.
I know that removing the anode rod drains the hot water tank. But on page 6-6 in the manual it says having the By-Pass Kit, "allows for easier drainage of the hot water heater". It does not say how this works. Just above that paragraph it says to drain the hot water tank you place the By-pass valve in the open postion, but you still have to remove the anode rod.
So I'm confused as how the By-Pass-Valve makes draining the tank easier. Wouldn't you accomplish the same thing by turning off the heater and shore water and removing the anode rod? Instead of getting on the floor, taking off the panel and locating the By-pass valve?
I'm not sure if I have this valve because the manual says it's "optional". From the previous post on the By-Pass-Valve, I gather I will have to remove the panel on the floor of the galley and look for it under the counter, next to the sink. Right?
