Shelter - for home, boat, 2 autos, RV and shop. Had Allstate but got a better deal with Shelter. We're still weekenders and vacationers.

We still have the stick house in TX. I have found it pays to shop around each year. Give the whole package to best offer from reputable companies--truck, car, house, RV. I have had good service when I needed it from virtually every company. Progressive was good for many years then went NUTS on price for my home--and I had no claims on it. Just the nature of Texas Home Ins market. A hurricane usually causes every INS company to jack up rates. One even decided the losses were to high one time and did not pay to rebuild coastal homes--kinda like "you pay every year but we will just skip rebuilding this time around!"

We have AAA. We had a tire blow (good ole Marabomb)and cause 3,300 dollars worth of damage. They worked directly with the RV dealer and had everything repaired to our satisfaction.

I live in Texas where the insurance rates are notoriously high. I'm retired law enforcement and my wife is eligible to retire from the probation department. We haven't had any tickets or accidents for years but our rates with Farmers (which covered the house, cars and RV) were going through the roof. I asked my agent repeatedly to find a way to reduce my insurance costs and he wanted me to raise my deductible or reduce coverage on my truck. I had been with this agent for more than 20 years. Then I got a flyer in the mail from "Good Sam Insurance Agency". I opened it and called them. I already had the ESP through them so I felt it wouldn't hurt to ask about insurance coverage. They said they represented several insurance companies and they could get me a lower rate. They came back with better and cheaper coverage on the RV and both vehicles and saved me better than $1500 a year. My RV insurance premium is $61 a month from Allied. My Vehicles are covered through Progressive. I'm more than pleased with the rates, and the fact that they saved me the onerous task of researching all those company's rates. After changing coverage, we had several tornados and storms that caused EXTENSIVE damage to our home, cars and RV. They responded immediately and paid our claims in short order. My rates have remained the same. You may want to give them a call to save some time. They claim they only represent companies that properly insure RV's.

We have Travelers for everything. House, RV, and both vehicles. I have been with them for 22 years, I priced a few others, but no one could come close. I guess it pays to be a long time customer.

Progressive, 3 claims in 6 years, two break ins and our 2010 Montana got totaled on the way to Mid-Atlantic Rally. They have been very responsive.

Make sure you know what you are buying there are three types of coverage, check out there web site for RV Insurance. Our policy is for agreed value (purchase + upgrades). Most quotes you get will be market value, and cost a lot less.
