How do we get more ladies involved?

Ok gals (and guys that peek in here)... how do we get more of the
MOC ladies involved in this forum?

I applaud those of you who are here and posting. There are lots of
great ideas and thoughts... even the occasional post by the guys
(not a bad thing... they sometimes have something valuable to
contribute.)... but we need more of the gals on here. That's why
we created this ladies area.

Any thoughts? (guys, this means you too.)

How many of you know a gal in a Monty who might not be aware of
this area? Could you email or call them and at least let them
know this area is here? They don't necessarily have to post but
at least let them know the info is here and available if they
are interested.

(just call me "trouble!" maker)

Helen,

FIRST they have to find a way to wrench the computer from their DHs! LOL (Some are not so lucky as I am to have multiple computers in the house along with a wireless network so I'm a "free wheeler!")

If the hubbies are the ones who frequent the site we need them (Are you guys listening?) to not only tell their DWs about the Gals portion of the forum, but encourage them to at least take a look at it (and maybe even help or actually make up their own "identity" for the site...some of us are computer challenged/intimidated).
The way I started on with MOC on my own was Doug was constantly laughing out loud, reading me the funny stories, passing me his laptop, and/or saying "I didn't know that" or "That's interesting" and I would have to ask him to what he didn't know ('cause I keep thinking he knows EVERYTHING) or what was interesting...he always read the stuff to me, but I decided I wanted to experience the MOC forum first hand and jumped on the band wagon.

Another thing may be to use the Rallies as a spring board as well...maybe that could/should be a class offered?

Also, as you see Monty owners around the campgrounds/at rallies approach them with a MOC "calling card" that is tailored for the female owner/co-owner so she knows its "not for men only?"

(Can I be a "trouble" maker too! Oh wait, I already am! LOL)

Agree with the wrenching part, Robin. I was actually the one who started on the MOC in this house. We both check out this site daily-and we have both informed other Montana owners about the site. It's amazing the different reactions that we get when we do that. I don't have any idea how to get the ladies more involved here, but think that Robin's idea of catching them at the rally's would be a good way to start. If eye to eye contact is available that would make a connection rather than just logon names.

I am 99.9% the one who posts on here. Hubby is into www.craigslist.com and boating/fishing junk when he gets on the computer. Plus he can't type worth beans. We fight for time on MY computer. I have been saving to buy him his own computer.

I just always forget to type my name in my posts so that folks know for sure which one of us is posting.

Margee.

Count me in. I am the one that posts and reads this MCODF. If I find something that would apply to my husband I am sure to let him know.

Okay, Helen. I got my own log in, but I forget to use it half the time. I am the one who posts all of the time under bob n pam and it is just habit to log in that way. I love having our own space on the forum and will try to do better about loggin in as myself.

that's ok Pam... old habits die hard. Like Robin said, if you oops and sign in under hubby, just sign it... although a lot of times.. we can tell just by the way things are worded... who is talking.

Helen,

It would take a bit of time, but PM'ing the wife of the pair with a personal invitation is an option. Of course, you don't have anything else to do, do you? lol
