Did I burn up my water pump?

I am hooked up to city water. I happened to notice that the water pump was turned on at the control panel. I do not have any water in my fresh water tank. Did I burn up my water pump? I have a 2013 3900FB.

Sorry I double posted this. I put it originally in the wrong category.

I would not think so since the water pumps are demand systems. If you want to make sure, switch your tank fill on in the convenience center for a couple of minutes, disconnect from city water, turn your pump switch on and see if you have water at the sink or elsewhere.

Probably no damage. If it were running, you would hear it.

Thanks, does it make sense to pull the fuse to the water pump to avoid this issue in the future I am almost always hooked to city water?

If there is pressure on the system, pump will not run. Low pressure trips the switch to start pump.

When it was turned on could you hear it running? As Bingo said, try putting some water in the tank, then turn off the city water, turn on the pump, and open a faucet. You should hear it run and get some flow. If not, then there may be something wrong with it.
We always keep some water in the fresh water tank to use the toilet when on the road. But we just turn the switch on to use it and turn it off afterward. I have on occasion forgot to turn it off, but when it pressurizes the water line it turns off anyway.
If you are parked long term and do not intend to use the fresh water tank then there would be no problem in pulling the fuse.

No, nothing broken, as other stated pump only works on low water pressure. Nothing needed but to turn the switch off at the control panel. We mainly use our fresh water tank and pump when on the road at rest stops, parking lots etc. Only carry a bit of water, about 2 or 3 minutes worth at 40 psi will put in about 4 to 6 gallons. We do keep approximately that much water in fresh tank most of the time as you never know when the water be cut off.

We also keep a little water in the fresh tank just in case of water failure and also so we can use the bathroom going down the road. My guess is your fine.
