Catherine's Landing, Hot Springs, AR

We are headed to Catherine's Landing on June 30th for a week. Any golf course suggestions? Other things to do in the area? If any of you are around, stop by. Our philosophy when RVing is cocktails for 6, sleeps 2.

I have already read about this campground, looks beautiful, looking forward to a report when you are done. I would be interested to know if they have a storm shelter available for severe weather.

Have fun!

There are alot of things to do in Hot Springs. All according to what you like. They have a zip line close to Catherines landing. There is also an gangster museum. Garvin woodland gardens. The folks in the office will also be able to give you some ideas. There are spas in hot springs. A wax museum. There is even a Gre8t Escapes room you can go to.

The Diamond mine at Murfreesboro is less than an hour from there and is the ONLY place in the USA where you can dig for DIAMONDS!! You get to keep what you find too and people do frequently find the stones there.

As mentioned above Garvin Gardens is certainly worth a visit as are the bath houses downtown!

I’ll let you dig for diamonds on my farm, bet you aren’t going to find any. It’s like playing the lottery, you know you aren’t going to win but it’s still fun to play.

Catherine's Landing is a great RV park. They have really paid attention to detail. Their staff was very courteous. They pick up trash multiple times a day. After someone leaves they will tidy up the spot by cleaning the grill box and fire pit. Multiple restrooms and laundry facilities around the park. They have a really nice pavilion area with picnic tables that would serve any large rally group. They have a really nice pool and splash pad area. The water in the river that bordered the park was very cold. They have a nice boat ramp with multiple docks available to tie up. I'm sure there is more that I can add but I would give this park a 5 star rating and will go back again.

A couple of things to add:

. They do not have a storm shelter. With the size of this park it would have to be huge to hold everyone.

. We saw several Montana's while we were there. There were several just on out street alone.

. Met Mike (and his cool buddy Gus) from Mikendebbie who is a member here.

I forgot to add that I played 27 holes at Diamondhead Gold Club with a MCPO while I was there. It's a fairly good course. However they had a few holes that were a bit tricked up. Two par 4's were hard 90 degree turns. 18 was a "S" shaped tree lined par 5. I also remember 7 gave us lots of trouble as well. The next time I go I'm going to play Hot Springs Golf and CC. It looked like a fantastic course.
