Roto-Choks?

I've got the vendor who sells Roto-Choks at the Tampa RV show to hold a pair for me. Before I buy, I thought I'd get opinions from the forum. Whaddya think?

Can't go wrong. Just make sure you measure the closest distance between the wheels so you ge the right ones.

I LOVE mine, they work so well, easy to insert, take down. Everyone sees them and wants to know where to get them.

Craig - that's what I'm going to use but waiting for delivery of the Monty so I can measure the gap.

When you measure between the tires make sure you do both sides. If the unit before stopping was pulled straight the distance will be the same. If the unit was backed in or just finished a turn one side will be wider than the other. That happen to me and I got he wrong size the first go around.

We have had a couple of pairs. Our first 5th wheel was a terry and the space between the tires was wider than our Montanas. I called the manufacture of Roto Chocs and they let me trade my old ones in for a new set that would fit the Montanas. Good Product, good people to deal with. You won't go wrong with them.

I just order a set from Perl yesterday based primarily on Orv's recommendation. However, I didn't think to measure the distance between the tires on each side. Perl said that my roto-choks should arrive by mid-week next week.

Grant they are great people to work with and if they don't fit they will swap them out for ones that do.

How do the RotoChoks compare with the Deluxe Tire Locking Chocks @ CW? They get a good review. Here is the CW webpage: http://tinyurl.com/yn8596 Just curious.

I believe that someone (I don't recall who) had installed the JT Strong stabilizers and found that they no longer needed wheel locking chocks. Anyone with experience with something like the JT Stabilizers and how they duplicate/replace the need for something like the roto-choks?

I don't have any experience with those stabilizers but have already notified Ketelsen's RV in Hiawatha, IA to set me up with an appointment to have them installed this summer!! I do use the Roto-Choks, greatly like them.

I don't believe the JT's Stabilizers can replace chocks. Chocks or blocks must be in place before unhooking, and RV should be leveled before JT's are extended. The JT's can be used replace a king pin stabilizer.

You're right, you still need to chock the wheels and Roto-Choks are by far the best that I've found to use and I will continue to use them even when I have the JT Stabilizers.
