6 month trip in 2013.

Hello California! How have you been since May? Since we last visited we went to Maine for lobster! Yummy!!! We had a good time.

Met up with friends, Carol & Al in Northern California and Oregon. Saw friends in Washington (& went to our first Bluegrass Festival), drove thru Montana (takes several days there to cross that beautiful state), into North Dakota to the Teddy Roosevelt National Park, down thru South Dakota and spent 4th of July at the Crazy Horse Monument (watching a light show and dancing and got to see them set a blast off on the mountain).

Then we drove into Wisconsin by way of Minnesota, to see a couple friends ... Coleen and Ray workkamping in Fon-du-lac, then went to Land o Lakes, by way of Door County, to see friends Dave and Betsy! (They are now in Las Vegas workkamping at Clark County Shooting range.).

We left Wisconsin and drove thru Upper Michigan, crossed the Mackinac Bridge and down into Lower Michigan and visited with Charlie and Nila (currently in Benson, today). Next went into Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania around Lake Huron, heading to Niagara Falls, to see Nancy & Mike and his family in Buffalo, NY. They took us to Canada to see the Falls from both sides of the border!

We left there and went down to the Catskills and then to Maine by way of Connecticut, Massachusetts & New Hampshire. We met friends Marge & Jim for lunch and saw a lighthouse in Portland and went to the retail store of LL Bean!!!

Left Maine pretty much the same way went , but headed down to Gettysburg, PA and visited many historical sites. From there we met friends Tom & Sherry for lunch one day. They drove 30 miles up fro Maryland.

And by that time we needed to turn back to Indiana by way of New Jersey, West Virginia and Ohio. Made our Montana (5th wheel brand) Rally in Goshen, Indiana and ate and rallied with MANY friends!!! After that week was over went to Southern Illinois to visit family and high school friends for a week. There we saw the Autumn colors come into their glory.

Then we decided we needed to go find Elvis!!! So Memphis here we come! After finding Elvis and a ride on a paddle boat tour on the Mississippi River we decided to go look for Duck Dynasty in West Monroe, Louisiana.

Went to the Duck Dynasty headquarters and their gift shop attached to the warehouse. Bob got his picture taken against the wall with the guys life size pics. We ate at Willie's Diner.

Left for Texas, trying to stay ahead of cold weather. Found rain on I-20! Stayed in Sanger, Texas and got re-acquainted with my niece and her family. Visited with Bob's sister in Arlington.

Cold weather is coming the weather man said, so we went south to El Paso and into New Mexico and Arizona. Stopped in Benson, Arizona and visited with Charlie & Nila (who we visited with in Michigan) and they took us to Tombstone!!! Have to go back and see more!

Moved over to Queen Creek, AZ and visited with Dusty and Don and then on to Quartzsite to visit with Stephanie and Greg & girls! Left there for a stop in Lake Havasu at the Cattail State Park on the Colorado River! Stayed there 2 nights because of weather. Saturday, Nov 23, we left Arizona for California for the Holidays to spend with our kids and grandkids!!!

What a way to end the year of 2013.

Well, you beat us back to California. We also have been gone since May. We got as far as Missouri, but we expect to be heading west in another week or so. Our relative who had a bone marrow transplant for his leukemia has been doing so well, he has been OK'd by his doctor to be alone while his wife is at work. We have been here almost three months assisting them. And I want to publicly thank OZZ for his generous help in servicing their heating unit.

We did, also, get to Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming and Yellowstone, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and then here in Missouri. We also are looking forward to seeing kids and grandkids, along with our folks. It's amazing how much they miss us when we are away for so long
