Happy Fathers Day YALL!
Today being Fathers Day seems like a good time to sit back and remember the times we have had with our fathers. I thank God that I still have my father, he's only 91 this year and is in pretty good health. My sister has him living with her and just last year took his car keys from him, scared her a little. He likes to tell us stories about his past and even though we've heard them so many times, we act like it was the first time.
I will call him today and wish him a happy Fathers Day this afternoon, after he gets home from church.
Give your father a call today, you never know, he may just be a memory next year!

Well, the funny thing was that my daughter called at 8am to wish me a happy fathers day, so I didn't look at the calendar.
You know though, I went ahead and called my father and wished him a happy one today. I will call him again next week and repeat my wishes, but just think, if I didn't call him today, how would I feel if something happened to him or me and I hadn't had that chance!

The wife and I both wish ours were still around; yes - call them and call them often!!
As a side note - if you have time to visit, get them to tell you some of the family background - the stories of growing up, etc.. so that their history can be passed on -- our local High School has been working on a project where they video record senior citizens to get their history. Very interesting discussions and things that we all learn that we never knew.
Didn't mean to hijack the thread - just started thinking about our parents when reading the earlier comments.
