Shower door not staying closed

I have the large corner shower in my 2003 315RLS Mountaineer TT. In the past few months I have noticed that the shower door will not totally magnetically close. The shower door does not seem to be sprong. It closes but stays open about 1/2 inch. Does anybody know if the magnetic strips can be purchased, if so where. Outside of replacing the magnetic strips, I'm lost.

Thanks for you help

There should be a small black knob that also locks the door in the closed position. Often these get broke, especially if you close the door with the catch closed. I found them at an RV store when mine was missing.

I also found my door was dragging on the threshold. The corner glass on the hinge side would slip in and out of the channel molding up the wall. I pushed the glass into the channel until the door didn't drag and put a screw through the channel into the glass frame.

When we first looked at our unit, we noticed that the shower door would not stay closed. So, that was one thing to be fixed before we took delivery. Come to find out that the magnet strip was on backwards on one side! We thought it was funny (only because we didn't have it "live" with the problem.) Maybe the same is true with yours?

Comments for drhowell -- The latch on my door is still OK. The "L" bracket on the bottom of the door does drag the bottom.
So far the glass in the door is still in the right position.

Commets for wifeofdano -- On my shower door sometime ago I had put some silcon on the bottom of the magnetic strip to keep it from sliding out the bottom on the floor. So with your comments, I headed to my Mountaineer. In looking at the magnetic strip there is no way to simply roatate it, there is a flange that holds it in the slideway. Thinking about your comment, I turned if end for end. It now shuts and the two maganetic strips hold the door securely closed. Thanks for of the help
