Need a small freezer

I would like to get a small freezer to put in the basement. Has anybody done this? If so where did you find one?

You might consider a 4 cu.ft. Danby from Lowes. Look on-line ... small freezers are everywhere!

We have the Danby fridge in our basement, but it is only 26" high, if you want to be able to open the door of the freezer then it will need to be less than what it shows both the 3 and 4 cu ft free standing freezers are in height.
A chest freezer is of little value unless you want to move it out upon arrival at destination.

I had to mount my fridge on blocks to get it high enough to be able to open the door over the compartment lip and latches.

The might be smaller ones around but make sure you measure your space before buying.

We have carried a 5 cu ft freezer--AC powered--since 2007. Took out a recliner--not missed. On our Alaska trip--it came home full of fish! Everything stays frozen even with 6-8 hours of travel. Sure makes meal planning a breeze--it does hold ICE CREAM! About $160 at Sams.

Tim, $160.00, that is a bunch of ice cream

We put ours in the back where a chair was, since I have no friends, we didn't need the chair
If you stay somewhere for any time a freezer is great. I wonder if a large slide-out would work for the basement area? That way the freezer could be slid out for access behind it. Probably too heavy once loaded.

Lowes and Sears would be a good place to look for the small freezer

Ozz may be on to something there, here is a basement tray made for some unknown brand of freezer:

And here are some expensive options for the unknown brand freezer:

We ordered one from compact appliances a long time ago and loved it.. You could use it as either a fridge or freezer.. We used it for a freezer and sold it when we got the double wide freezer in our now unit... So sorry we sold it...

Ever tried Sorbet? We've gotten into that recently and I like it cuz there's no after taste. (Sorry daily double...got a bit off topic).
