Water in sink when draining bathtub
Hi all, here is my latest quandry... We use the bathtub for bathing our dog, and when we drain it water spurts up through the vanity sink drain under enough pressure to get water on the mirror. Anyone ever see this on their unit. This has happened since new so it's not something we induced.
Thanks for any input...

This is wierd. Our shower (no tub) has it's own gray tank. The bathroom sink is usually part of the black tank system. I've heard that different fifth wheels have different connections but I hope your tub isn't filling up your black tank and backing up.

Our shower and sink both go into the gray water tank. It sounds like the air vent may be stopped up. You can tell by taking off the cap on the roof and checking it out.

Sink and tub drain in ours both go to the gray tank. I agree with Sue, sounds like the air vent is plugged.

Or your holding tank could be full.
I had a similar proplem. My sink and toilet are connected to the black tank. When I would fill the sink and drain it after use I would hear bubbling in the toilet. Drained the tank, no problems after that.

Check the vent pipe! Sounds like the water in the sink "trap" is forced up and out by air pressure when the bath water is "dumped" into an unvented grey water tank. If the tank was just "overfull" the water just wouldn't drain out of the bathtub. The sink and its trap are higher, and wouldn't be affected.

Still haven't found the problem? I went onto the roof to check out the vent. The vent is above the vanity sink, so I assume it is the only one for my gray tank. When water is run in the sink or bath tub I can hear it in this vent. I have not tried to snake the vent 'cause it sounds clear? I too think that the pressure from tub draining is forcing air from gray tank up to vanity sink trap and blowing it out. If the vent was plumed properly this shouldn't happen. I guess I'll try to snake the vent and see how far and where it goes...

I've heard of squirrels using vent pipes for winter storage (acorns). Does the top of the vent pipe have a cover? If not, it could be full of debris or rodent chow.
