I will jump on board here and reiterate the thanks. Although I never served in the military, I was raised as an Army brat and fully understand the sacrifices involved. I will add a thanks as well to all the military wives and families that supported their veterans during their service. The sacrifice of all is what allows us to enjoy the freedoms that we take for granted today!!!

If there is every a time when no-one is willing to serve then we will not have any freedom. They have my thanks.

As one of the Vietnam Vets, I remember the 'homecoming' we got, a sad time in history, and heartbreaking for us.
That memory makes me even more appreciative and thankful for the troops now-days. The jobless situation, & high unemployment we have hits our newly returning Vets hard, many of us, maybe most of us are retired, but if you have a business, or influence in a business, see what you can do to employ them.

I appreciate the thanks and offer a crisp salute to all veterans for their service.
You may not know it, but there are several MOC members that are highly decorated warriors (I won't name them as I respect their privacy). Heroes camp among us.
On a related note, there is actually a organization called Buy Veteran http://www.buyveteran.com/Search.aspx that promotes veteran owned businesses. Here is a good article on the subject from Bloomberg Business Week: http://www.businessweek.com/small-bu...-11112011.html
Big parade tomorrow in Fairborn, Ohio specifically to honor Vietnam Vets. The Parade will begin at: Fairborn Shopping Plaza 1280 N. Broad St. Fairborn OH 45324. Go to http://www.vietnamwelcomehome.com/Home_Page_3SIC.php for more info.

As a Vietnam vet I remember also. Thankfully the troops that come home now get the respect that they deserve. They did what there country asked of them as we all did. I also believe that the Vets of today has also brought the welcome home for the Vietnam Vets. Thank you all.

For years Veteran's Day was another ho hum holiday, where there the only difference between it and any other day was no mail service. As a two tour VN vet, I find it interesting that it is now cool to be a vet. When people say, "thank you for your service," for a while I did not know what to say in response. Now I respond by saying, "the only thing I did was go where they sent me and did what they told me to do."

I suspect that you did more than just doing what you were told....

THANK YOU
You'd be surprised how many times someone will pass and blow thier horn and wave or give us a thumbs up.

I closed our Veterans Day Program at the hometown school (K-12) with the saying that I've held dear since my service -"Remember there are only two individuals that will die for you-- that is our Lord Jesus Christ who died for our sins and an American Service Person who will die for our freedom!"
I was at a local turkey dinner put on by one of the churches last night and I had four young people, 1st graders through a high schooler, come up to me and say "Thank you for what you did for our country!" Talk about some really deep feelings that came out of that!
Thanks for Serving!!
