2011 Silverado-step rails

I am buying a 2011 Silverado 3500 and I need to put step rails (nerf bars) on it. What manufacturer puts out a good step rail that does not rust up and corrode. Also what size as I see 3" to 6" oval.
Thank you

General Motors has their own step rails they put on their Chev and GMC trucks. My opinion is they are as nice as the best you can get elsewhere. I had them on our 2008 GMC and now I have the same ones on our 2011 GMC Denali. I've never had a problem with them, but they are not cheap.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Ours are stainless steel and are made by Innovative Creations Inc. They are made so that they contour out with the shape of the dually fender, and you are able to stand on them to reach into bed of TV. Very satisfied. Larry

Go with the 6" bar that GM dealer can provide. I have the 6" on my 4 yr old Chev. Try and negotiate the price with your dealer as the dealer puts them on not GM. Tell dealer that will make the deal usually $500 if I recall correctly. No rust yet. Good Luck

Hi

We have GM installed by the dealer. Very satisfied and when we broke one of the end caps GM was able to get us a replacement with out any hassle.

I have Westin 3" E Series polished stainless steel step bars with a lifetime warranty. They have been on the truck only since Aug, and so far so good and are reasonably priced.

We ordered our 2011 Silverado with the 6" oval rails and have been really happy with them. We priced having them installed after market and it was more cost effective to order them with the truck.
