Bend, Or to Seven Feathers

Thinking about heading coastal from Bend Ore and looking at routes and know that fellow MOCers will know best. From Bend which route would you take pullng a 3400. Bend to Eugene over 20/242/126 or Bend to Eugene 97 to Gilchrist then 58 to Eugene or Bend 97 to Diamond Lake Junc then take 138 into Winston. All of them are state highways but I figure that one way might be better then the other. Thanks in advance. MOC is the best. Teresa

If it was me, I would take 97 south to 58 the head that way. Just my two cents.....

We live in Bend and go to the coast frequently and we have found the 97 to 58 route the best when pulling the Monty. This route has good highway all the way. The other routes are slower due to the curvy roads.

Teresa: We took the "Bend to Eugene over 20/242/126" route last year and loved it. Very scenic! The area along the McKenzie River is one we want to go back and explore. However do not think about, consider, or even try the Hwy-242 portion of that route! It is listed as a Scenic Highway but vehicles longer than 35 feet are not permitted.
