Lake Mead National Recreation Area
Has anyone ever stayed at one of the National Park Campgrounds in the Lake Mead Nat'l Recreation Area? We would like to visit the Hoover Dam and Las Vegas and can't find out the size of the campsites and if they will accomodate a 38' Montana. These campsites are first come, first served. We are thinking of staying at either Boulder Beach or Las Vegas Bay, both National Park Campgrounds close to both attractions.

We'll let you know Robbie! I called there and found out that there are sites that should accomodate us with no problem. Also I looked at the Boulder Beach Campground on Google Earth and it looks like the solar might work there too. I guess we will find out. Plan on going there sometime next week.

While you are there check out the Valley of Fire State Park at the North end of Lake Mead by Overton Beach. Great area with some great sites. I worked in that area in the 1970's out of the Overton NV Lost City Museum. Valley of Fire is loaded with great rock formations and Pictroglyphs.

The Valley of Fire is just beautiful. The drive to get there around Lake Mead was also great. You can go on some easy hikes if time allows, or even just a drive thru and stopping along the way is wonderful too. Enjoy......
