Website Creation?
I am interested in possibly having my own website.
Have any of you produced your own website and, if so, what "tools" did you use?
I have looked at Intuit.com but it seems to be for businesses.
Thanks for any help with this.
Larry

Hi,
I have set up a couple web sites. I have used a couple software programs, but have found a set of programs called Coffee Cup is the easiest and very well set up. I have created a couple sites that had pictures and video as well as links and had no problem. The FTP program that uploads it to your site is easy to work with.
Here is a link if interested http://www.coffeecup.com/

Depends on what you want to do with it, many of us use Blogger for keeping in touch with family and photos of all the great thing we are seeing when we travel. Blogger is FREE, all you need to get started is a google email account, which is FREE. This will also give you access to Picasa photo storage online, FREE and a YouTube acct, FREE and a bunch more.
I also use webs.com for some limited real web sites, but, I find it slow after working with blogger. But, for some things, a real web page is just what you need. Our Montana improvements do much better on a real web page, so that is where they are. Ohhhh, webs.com is FREE.
Larry, believe you have been to my blog, go again and have a look and at the top are some links to the real web pages at webs.com. Note, you can link them together.
See my links below. Good luck and have fun!

Larry,
I've done eight or so web sites using Microsoft's FrontPage, and it's an easy editor to use; it can be a cheap editor too, especially if you can find an older version on eBay. But FP is past its end-of-life, so don't expect support, except maybe from some of the dino-webmasters like me.

Take a look at Eversoft's 1st Page. I believe it is still free, or share ware. I have used it off and on since 2000.
Also, take a look at the W3.org HTML information. Everything you ever wanted to know about HTML is on that web site. A basic understanding of HTML will help with any program you use to develop a web page.
Good luck.

Larry, I use "www.1and1.com" for hosting our church web site. They have a lot of packages on their web site to choose from. You first need a hosting plan if you decide to use them and then you will need to have a domain name for your web site. You can select through different options and create you own web site through their web site builder or you can simply up-load your own site for them to host. I use note pad to create our web site on and set it up using HTML. I also use an FTP transfer program called “FileZilla” that I got off the internet for free. Check it out they give you a lot of space for the price IMO.
