The first day of the rest of my life

Today truly was the first day of the rest of my life. After years of dreaming and planning; today we left our hometown of the past 30 years and started out on our fulltime life. We had been living it the Montana since we sold the house in September but, I was still working. My official retirement date is 12/31 but, my last day of work was 12/21. We are heading to Arizona and hopefully warmer weather. Tonight we are in Paso Robles where they are predicting and overnight low of 24 degrees.
See you at Quartzsite.

Well, congratulations!! This three month hiatus for Dianna to heal hasn't dampened our enthusiasm for fulltiming. We have just learned to flex with the circumstances. Have loads of fun learning the ropes. Happy RVing.....

You will have adventures and misadventures. Enjoy them both. Keep a good sense of humor, you'll need it every once in a while. Take time to talk to everyone--you'll meet some wonderful and great people---some will become life long friends. It is a great lifestyle, but remember, it is the trip, not the destination and take a "vacation" from fulltiming every so often--maybe just a week with no plans or a cruise. The more you see, the more there will be to see.

Congratulations. I'm sure it was a big decision to go full time as it was for most of us. It is a great lifestyle with few downsides and many upsides. The two I like most, you get to see this beautiful country of ours and you meet some of the nicest, most helpful people.

Good luck, travel safe and stay WARM

Great choice, been there and done that. Congrats on your retirement. You are going to wonder how you ever had time to work. But retirement is hard but someone has to do it. GBY....

Grant & Kathy,

Here's wishing you many great and happy adventures. The hardest part of fulltiming, we have found, is answering the question, "Where are you from". My answerer is to look at Carolyn and ask her "Where did we stop last". Now is the time to relax, enjoy the trip and the country more. Lots to see and do and all the time to do it. See you in "Q". Have a safe and uneventful trip.

Grant and Cathy,

Congratualtions! We still remember when we pulled away from our hometown to start our fulltiming adventure....one scary day.

You will now have the rest of your lives to figure out how you want to live. We hope you enjoy this new found freedom as much as we do.

We cant imagine any other way to live right now, fulltiming is our great adventure.

Looking forward to seeing you at Quartzsite.

ONLY 23 more days until the "Circling of the Montanas" at Quartzsite!

Congratulations amigo!!! You're living our dream today!! Brenda and I cannot wait until I am ready for our second retirement. When that time does come we're on the road for months at a time instead of weeks exploring this country of ours!!!

Congrats! Our first day was May 10,2007. We are currently in Az at Pilot Knob. There are at least 6 Montanas here. When will you be in Quartizsite?

Congratulations on the milestone. My date for retirement is March 31 this year. Don't plan to full time (yet), but there definitely will be more time in the Monty.

Congrats on the retirement! Based upon our meeting this afternoon (you never know when you you will encounter another MOCer) it sure seems you are adapting well. We are looking forward to continuing our conversations in Q.
