Second sewer hose compartment
Keystone, some of us have figured out that on those models with the sewer hose compartment at the rear corner, there's an identical compartment on the opposite side. I put a door there and presto have room for additional sewer hoses, water hoses, or whatever. So, how about installing a door on that side right in the factory?

Rich is smarter than that, he will take the surgical approach.
I was in there, many many wires all over the place, be careful.

Ozz, I don't recall seeing any wires in mine except at the back. Same as on the other side. I guess some do and some don't depending on how the worker felt that day.

OK Steve you said it was a outside shower door..Where did you find just the door??All I can find is the entire unit for 53.00.. I have to see what is in there before I start cutting or drilling.. I DO have a chain saw but Helen will not let me use it...

Try those surplus rv places or the salvage places.

Steve, I saw some when I was looking to tie into the rear lights for my additional side marker lights, can't remember exactly where they are now. I do know they are in there somewhere.
Just take a Versi-bit (Hardened steel greduated drill, comes in different sizes, cheapest-not best-at Harbor Freight; good to have) and drill into the center of the cut out pc. then take tin snips and cut around the outline of the hole.
With the initial pilot hole cut you can stick your finger in and see if any wires are in the path of the snips.
Ozz

Jim, mine only has wires and a hose against the back wall. Maybe some are built differently. It never hurts to be cautious and use Jim's approach, just in case.
Another note, take a close look at the existing compartment. Construction and size of the other side is identical. There is a ceiling just above the door opening. That restricts how high up you can cut the hole for the new door. Be sure to measure or at least take a close look.
On the bottom there is an opening for ventilation into the area, same as on the original side. A guy could probably lay underneath with a flashlight and maybe a mirror to see inside to see if there are wires along the outside panels. In mine there are not.
Dave, here are some pictures. Forgive the road grime on the rig. It's getting washed this week, weather permitting.
You cannot see the depth of the locker in this picture. It is identical to the locker on the other side. The wires in mine are against the rear wall where it intersects the floor.

There must be some salvage yards around here somewhere. Not sure where though. If you find one for me, I'll reimburse you. I'll check down here too.
