Leak by shower

I have the mountaineer 342PHT. I got done with a shower and noticed that in the 2 inch space between the vanity and the shower, by the wall, under the little piece of molding, there seemed to be water. I'm very careful and don't splash all over the place. I took of the inspection covers on the bottom of the shower and looked inside expecting to see the infamous drain leak. No problem there. I stuck my hand way back there and felt all around the floor and around the faucet, nothing there. After the water was dry, I ran the faucet into the tub for about 5 minutes. No water showed up. It only happens when I use the shower. I thought it was from water getting splashed behind the faucet, but there is no sign under the shower. Only in the 2 inch space between the shower and sink.

Any ideas?

We've got a very similar leak in our '05 3500RL.
I've chased it down to a very small leak that will trickle down over the side of the shower pan, within a couple of inches of the wall.

I've re-caulked the seal along the bottom of the glass shower wall with little success.
I'm begining to think the leak is acutally up on the side where the
glass shower wall seals to the shower surround wall, and is running down 'till it finds a place to run out. I've seen leaky aircraft fuel tanks where the leak is quite a distance from where the evidence of a leak appears.

I had the dealer re-caulk it while doing some other warranty work during the winter, but haven't tried it yet to see if the leak is gone.

We found a towel rolled-up and stuffed into the space between the vanity and shower pan to be a good temporary fix to keep water off the floor.

Had the same problem on our previous 5'er. I completly removed all
the old caulk and resealed it along the side and bottom, and it never leaked again.

Maybe it is like you said you use the shower, your weight in the tub can cause a septation in the seal around the tub drain. I removed the plumbers pudding and cleaned the drain area and then applied silicon caulking and made the connection again. hope this may help. See-Ya

We had the same leak with ours and it just about drove me nuts finding it. Turns out it was between the frame and the glass. The vinyl seal between them bulged out a little where it turned the corner at the bottom and didn't seal. I put a dab of clear silicone there and no more leak.

I tested for the leak by just spraying shower water onto the faucet corner and glass without standing in the tub, so my weight didn't change anything. It is a very annoying small leak. You can only see it by getting on the floor and looking in the air space under that little piece of trim. I'll keep looking and check the glass seals

We have the same rig Mountianeer 342PHT.

Our shower was leaking and I could not determine from where. The dealer found it. The fittings behind the shower were not tight from the factory. Quick and simple fix.

I had to recaulk ours along the bottom next to the vanity. It stopped the leak. I agree that the leak could be above where you are seeing the water. Try caulking in the corner of the shower from about half way down, down to the base of the shower also.
