No time to be visiting the pacific Rim area..

My heart goes out to the people over there, what a disaster.

My wifes parents are, 7 miles in off the coast in Oregon. The Trailer Park they run is on the Alsea River. We are worried the water from the ocean will come up the river and flood the Park. We will pray that doesn't wash them out.

We heard that there is a low tide. So that should help with the energy created by the tsunomi.

Awareness & preparedness is most important though. IMHO.

Actually it sounds to me like Japan would be a good place to stay away from right now, especially since this second quake has hit! It’s definitely a disastrous situation unfolding over there.

The marina's are taking a big hit with the fast water coming in and going out but for the most part all is well on the coast. People should stay away from the shore, but as we all know there are some that just can't and those are the ones that get swept away. I heard a report that 4 in Oregon were swept out to sea from the shore line. Not sure exactly where in Oregon.
