settings for surround sound

We have a new 3400RL and love it so far however the surround sound is disapointing. I have read the directions and tried my best to get the speakers set at the best db's but it is still dissapointing. The dialogue only comes out of the front center speaker and the bedroom speakers, seems to me it should come out all 3 of the front speakers. The background/ambient noise comes out of the sub woofer, the speakers in the slide and the r/l front speakers. We end up with low volume on the dialoge and blast you out ambient noise. I have to say I'm totaly ignorant of these type of systems and need help, any ideas?

I moved the sound to different speakers by trial and error by changing the wires on the back of the DVD until I found what made me happy.

My coach is garaged for the winter so I do not have the steps written down in front of me. I know there is a setting that will allow you to turn the dialog volume up without turning any "surround" volume up. The dialog will come out of the center speaker. You can also adjust the volume to each speaker separately; this feature is on your remote control. Also under the settings menu might be called "speakers" there is an option to select dolby digital or pro logic. You can also run a "test mode" which will run through all 5 speakers and sub, one at a time. It will show you a picture on the tv screen to let you know which speaker you should be hearing sound from. I found that my rear speakers were hooked up incorrectly. I am sorry I cant give you step by step directions, but hope this will at least get you going in the right direction.

I had problems with the inexpensive Quest unit from new. The first problem was the Toshiba TV remote changed adjustment settings on the surround sound. I complained to Montana and they sent me a new Toshiba remote just like the one I had. That of course changed nothing. Never got it right so I yanked the whole unit out, tossed it and put a decent system in speakers and all. Sounds great now!

I finally dug out the Operation Manual (I tend to go by the when-all-else-fails, read-the-instructions theory of life) and I THINK I've adjusted the speakers so we're getting louder dialog through the front speakers (the ones over the tv) and Steve isn't getting blown out by the speaker next to his chair. I've put "Cars" in so we'll see how it goes.

I have the QR 3000 Home Theatre Sys.in my '07 3000rk. Its a toss-up if that piece of junk is going into the bottom of a lake,or poluting the garbage can. With a DVD, surround sound,it does ok, but AM/Fm is non existant. I can't find info on it anywhere.Haven't gotten to the adjustment of the speakers yet. Bill

Does anyone know the manufacture of the QR 3000 Home Theatre. I had a board failure and can't find anywhere on the unit who the MFG is. The manual or the paperwork doesn't give a clue either. I know it's cheap but it's better than nothing, and much cheaper to repair than replace.

xthread,
It may be a lot late but I found for the AM/FM to work you have to have the TV Booster turned on......to get the radio signal!
