It is also in the new Popular Mechanics. The 2005 Ford can tow up to 17,000 lbs and has added new springs and heavy duty brakes.

Just wanted to add that the September issue of Motor Trend has a tow test (8500 lb boat) of the big three 2004 3/4 ton diesel trucks.

There is a whole new frame under the F250/350 starting in the 2005 models also. That is why the load and tow limits are higher on the 2005 Fords. The new frame is designed after the F550 frame. Not the same as, but Ford used the F550 frame to design the new frame for the F250/350.

My dealer has a 2005 F350 coming in September. Says he will
save it for me. Can't afford it and can't resist it. I can
feel another case of severe guilt coming on. Would sure be
nice for my trip to Las Vegas this fall.
