Day-Nite shade re-string

Well I need the paperwork on how to repair the day nite shade. I used to have one in the file cabinet, a very detailed file step by step and now when I need it I cant find it, "Of course" thats my luck. It was by Day-Nite shade. If there is any body that has this paper work could you E-mail it to me if you have that capability. or give me the link with this step by step instructions on how to re string the shade.
mail dkr9925@ca.rr.com
Thanks for your help.

Don

Doing the first one was trial and error but after you learn a few tricks they are a walk in the park to fix after that!

It's right here on the MOC site! It's a "STICKY" post in the Repairs and Service section.

What I did was lay out a good shade next to the one needing repair and used it as a guide.

There's a good chance there may be a class on this at the Rally.

Thanks to all the members for the great information on restringing the Dat Night Shades. all went well there are a few gromets that are used for the mounting holes that are colapsed and I need to replace them also (2) needed, they didnt come with the rebuild kit so I guess a call to the Fix my blinds store will be my next job.
I do have another question and that is after I have restrung the shade which now completed how do you figure out how long to make the line that conects to the string knob that is mounted to the wall.
Is it all by feel and a slow adjustment for the tention?

Once you get the ends on the bobin for me it became obvious how long and what tention to put on them for the blinds to be adjustable yet not slip. Once you try the first one I think you will understand.
It is a three or four hand job to get the strings at their proper length.
Good luck.

I have re-strung three of them now, without insttructions. Admittedly, there was some trepidation on the first one, but if you work slowly and remember how you took it apart, there's not much to it.

Good luck!

Just to put it out there, in case anyone is interested, we restring RV blinds ~ here's the website for the mail-in side of the business: http://bradsblindrepair.webs.com/. We also do "in rig" business if in the area.

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

Glad to see those pictures from 2006 are still being used. I'll leave them there as long there is interest in the topic.

We no longer have a Montana, but our SOB motorhome has similar blinds of a different brand, but people still have the same issues.

As someone said, it is not hard if you take your time, and keep track of what you are doing.

Unfortunately the person who was going to teach this class has had to withdraw from the Rally for health reasons. We wish Dave well and hope he can present the class at next years Rally.

Sue got a CD when we bought the restring kit, she watched the instructions before doing the job.
Wow, it is a hard job to restring that rear shade. Her knees were all red and sore from the job, I felt so sorry for Sue when she was doing it, I even went down to the beer refrigerator in the basement and got my own beer.

And that's why I love to poke the Ozz every so often. He's just way too hard on himself. Stay on the edge my friend.
