Grand Canyon

Has anyone ever stayed at Grand Canyon Railway RV Park
and taken their train to the Grand Canyon.

We stayed there in March of "08. It was great fun. The RV park was new and clean and very nice. We also did the train tour. It was a hoot!!! We have since recommended both the RV park and the train tour to a couple of friends, and both enjoyed themselves. On a side note, at the time we had our dog with us. Grand Canyon Railway RV park has a very nice, clean kennel on site. It made for nice relaxing day for Ken and I....and Kelsey!! Have fun

Marv's guided tour is the only way to go. You can ask questions and get a ready answer. Yes, you can do the tour on your own but we found that being with a group of about 10 people made the tour very nice. Would I do it again? You bet!

We were lucky as we were the only two on the trip that day and get real personal service. It was interesting when he stopped to point out features other people would stop and listen. He was very interesting and friendly

We also stayed at the Grand Canyon RV park in Williams and took the train into the park. Found the trip very enjoyable. Agree with the above comments that the park was clean and well run. We also used their kennels for our dog.

The train has various options and we choose the mid priced package. We got the pretrip show, train ride, lunch in the park and a tour of part of the park. The tour in the park was not long but we had an excellent guide.

There is so much more to see so we drove back into the park on our own the next two days.

I am sure there are many ways to make this trip into the park but since we did not do any others can not compare or comment on them.

We also stayed in this park and used the kennel for our dog -- we took the train to the Canyon - had the pre show and lunch -- it was great -- next time we would make arrangements to stay overnight in the canyon and come back the next day. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. When you stay in the RV park you are allowed to use the facilities in the hotel --- we would highly recommend this park.

We have been to the Grand Canyon several times before.
This time we thought we would like to try the train.
Thanks for all the information.
