3100RL problem

Our new 3150RL deal feel through because of a major hydraulic leak in the belly before we left the dealers lot. Now we are looking at a 2013 3100RL. Any problems with the unit. Good or bad please . Thanks in advance

Replacing a cylinder or hose would have been a quick. easy, and "have to anway" fix for the dealer as well as replacing the foil insulation (if soaked). Were they not offering that or did the experience just make you walk away? All hydraulic operated units have the leak potential just like all electrically operated units have the burnt up motor potential. I like my 3150 very well ... the 3100 seemed a bit more confining to our tastes.

We have the 3100RL and just love it! We are currently living in it full time right now and have not come up with any issues or complaints. We think it is a great floor plan.

I'm puzzled also about why the hydraulic leak killed the deal. When I was in having the level up installed they had a brand new $250,000 Class A with hydraulic problems. Just another pain in the butt due to a mistake in manufacturing, but they fixed everything and the folks went on their way. Better to find and fix it early than to have it show up a bunch of months later.

just a question. are you looking at the NEW NEW 2013 trailer made after october 1st? if you are looking at the newest trailer though the front closet doors are not designed very well and WILL fall off the track when traveling. these are the new 4 panel sliding doors, not the mirrored ones on the old trailers.

Love the 6 point leveling system. and, get 2 A/C units.

we didn't like the 3100 because of the lack of a closet at the entrance. and i think the 3100 has the cart, this, in our opinion, is a waste of space. i recommend at least the 3150 rather than the 3100.

pokypa, Even though the leak and cleanup would be done by the dealer, I would have done the same thing. When you start out with a rig with problems, no telling what else might show up. Who was working that day, how did they feel, what were they thinking? Just too many questions. The last I remember from a factory tour a couple years ago, they produce 8 of these monsters each day, I think that is two shifts worth, I may be mistaken, but it doesn't take them very long to put one together, If 1 or 2 guys are out that day, who covers for them and what kind of work did they do. NOPE, you did right, I'm sure.....

I walked away because it was a bad leak. I watched the dealer put 8 qts of fluid in it and it disappear instantly . The whole underside had to be soaked because of such a big leak. Anything can be fixed but for me I don't want to smell fluid in my new trailer for months to come. As for the size the 3100rl has more living space than the 3150rl. All of us make choices and mine was to walk away from this fluid soaked unit.

We have a 3100RL that we really enjoy! We purchased it in August and have only been out in it once in September for 5 days but we definitely put it through it's paces and found a few issues that have been resolved. With the exception of the recliners...they still have crushed arms. If you have any specific questions please let me know (you can PM me).

We have a 2013 3100 that was built on 9/18 and are extremely happy with the floor plan. We have not had a problem with it and have been in Florida with it for almost 2 months. Ours also has (umpteenzillion bells and whistles) just like Carol's unit.
