Winegard DM-46 Satellite Dish installed

Yesterday was a warm clear day and after procrastination I got up the nerve to put a hole in the roof and installed the dish. It works as expected.

EDIT - I am using Direct TV non-HD.

Good install ... cutting a hole in the roof does play with your mind a bit. Unfortunately I need to continue to use a tripod as around the lakes, the campsites have too many trees. One bright note though ... each year more and more over the air HD channels are added to the broadcast stations. We can generally pick up six or more using the batwing in the areas we camp .

On edit to Johns edit ... I knew you were watching regular satellite TV as I also have the single LNB. Rambling toward the end of my reponse, I was refering to just free everyday over the air digital TV which is is adding more and more HD stations. I'm becoming a little less reliant on satellite to satisfy my viewing.

Looks good John, though i would not have the nerve to cut the hole.

I had one of them on my class A motorhome. The biggest problem was to orient myself inside the coach to the southwest as a magnetic compas doesn't work well inside of a metal structure. You also need the trailer pretty much level for the elevation sensor to have an accurate readout. My programming was on 2 sats so everytime I changed channels that was on another sat I had to rotate the dish and change elevation. I used the audible tone and strength meter in the sat box menu to peak the signal.
Once all the initial setup was done it worked well.

I would think that Dish Network would work the best as they have recently launched a new sat (I believe 72.7) that contains most all their programming except locals. That's the sat that the new Winegard Anser uses.

Let us know how it works and what service you are using?
