Question Large rocker switch

Anyone know a good source for a replacement for the large rocker switch. I have two; one for the ceiling fan and one for the bathroom vanity lights. One is getting flaky. Lowe’s and Home Depot have similar ones but they are the type that mount to a conduit box. The ones in the Monte just mount in the wall with wing clips.

Try Trekwood.com When it's a Montana specific part you can't find elsewhere they usually have it. But they also arn't cheap.

Bill, If you have any rv salvage stores around you check them out. They get all the left over parts from the manufacturers and also from insurance totaled campers. If none around do as DQDick has stated and try Trekwood.com They are actually recommended by Keystone for parts that can be bought by owners. I know you can order them from a dealer but it will more than likely be even higher than Trekwood. Good luck and let us know what you come up with.

Thanks. I have noticed before that Trekwood prices were quite high compared to other sources. But they are not too bad for those switches. And they do have them.

I may pop the switch out and see if it has a manufacturer name and part number on it. Managed to find the small push button switches for our bedside lights by doing that. And easily found them on line. I also need a couple of those for our wall lights in the living room.

Well I popped the switch out, noted the brand info, and a quick google search found it for less than half trekwood price, cheaper shipping, and no tax from
mobilehomepartsstore.com. Never heard of them before but decided to give them a try.

Wouldn't they just be normal 120V AC light switches found at HD or Lowes?
Mine is.

The only switches the local Home Depot /Lowe’s sell are made to be installed in conduit boxes. There is no conduit box in the wall. Just a rectangular cutout.
This switch is self contained and has “wings” on the back on the screws. Insert the switch into the wall, and as you tighten the screw, the wing swings out and clamps against the inside of the wall.

Is there any reason you couldn’t install a conduit box? They are very inexpensive. Come in a wide variety of sizes and depths. Many of which have the same sort of wings your talking about! Would be way less expensive and far easier to source!!!

For that application an exact replacement probably doesn’t make sense

If like mine it's mounted on bathroom wall. I've replaced mine with winged electrical box and large lighted switch from Lowes. The bath wall is plenty deep enough for box. If on an exterior wall granted it wont work.

Exactly.

Although they do make a backless shallow box that is more or less just the face of a full box that should work on an exterior wall.

Mine is the open bath floorplan and the switch is mounted in a thin partition wall beside the vanity. Not much depth. And to make matters worse no slack wire to work with.

Those switches are the same ones used in mobile homes. They are a pain, not durable, but Keystone saved $.02 cents per trailer produced.
