Black tank problems 2
You remember that I told you that my black tank leaked into belly of camper last time I emptied the tank. and it leaked quite a bit. The belly bulged and I had to poke a hole to drain it. So I got brave and dropped the belly and inspected the black tank and drain lines today. It's a quandry! I could find no breaks, splits, or leaks anywhere> I turned on the spray and ran water into the black tank for about 5 minutes, then drained it. No leaks! My next assignment ,I guess, is to fill the black tank and see if I can find any leaks.
If any of you Lot Smarter Than I Am People have any suggestions please let me know. I just assumed that I would find a busted pipe or leaking tank nothing so far. I'm bumfusseled! Thanks for any suggestions you may have!

Probably there is a leak that only appears when the tank is near or full. The weight of the waste causes the tank to try to expand and exposes the leak. The most common locations have been around the spud and at the top which is glued to the tank (allegedly changed on the newest models).
Fill that puppy up and I bet the leak magically appears.

My black tank only leaked when full, the top seam split. The second time the split was in the bottom of the tank and hard to find until paper got stuck in the crack (pun intended!!). Even then it only leaked when semi-full. Good Luck!!

When you fill the tank and then go to drain it, either keep the cap on the outlet or use one of the twist on valves on the outlet and then drain into that pipe, that way the leak will show if it’s on the discharge pipe after the regular drain valve.
