Rio Grande, March 2005, part II of the Rendezvous

Al and I had dinner last night at the Golden Coral in Weslaco area. Food was pretty good, and so many choices. Les and Julie also thought the food was pretty good.

They have a seperate dining area/room, which will seat up to 44.

Did not ask about a room reservation, but I can, March 17th is the 3rd Thursday of the month, St. Paddy's day I believe.

Feedback?? Should I see if I can get a room, or maybe cause it is St. Paddy's day, we would rather go, like the 16th, which is Wednesday??

It sounds like you folks had a great time. Sure wish we could have made it. But we are going to try again. We should be in the Valley March 19th, leaving for a Rally in Kerrville, TX, Buckhorn RV Resort, March 24th through March 28th. Don't change any of your dates for us, we will catch you folks when we get down there.

Carol, the 16th is good for us. We have eaten there and always enjoy Golden Corral. We are looking forward to our next get-together. Have also enjoyed the pictures..thanks to the photographers.

OK, seeing that the group will most likely be much smaller this month, than last, and seeing that Steve and Evelyn, who tried soooo hard to be here in February and could not make it, we are gonna tweak the date on this one time. So, although I have not called for a reservation, how bout the Monday the 21st of March?? Golden Coral, Weslaco. Figure if we go in the afternoon, like we did at Mr. Gatti's we should have no trouble sitting together, even if we cannot reserve the room. So, 3 in the afternoon, on the 21st! Hope this suits ya ok JimnPat. Bill and Ann already said they could go for a date switch. Hope to see ya all there! Will post full directions and address later.

Let's hope Steve and Evelyn and Jim and Pat can make it. Perhaps a few others in the valley will join us.

Southstl: Steve and Evelyn: Glad you will be in the area. Looks like Golden Coral, Weslaco on the 21st. Let us know where you are going to be when you get in and we may be able to get together before that.

OK, here are the facts:

We have reservation at the Golden Coral for 3 PM on the 21st of March. Address is 300 West Hwy. 83, Weslaco, Texas. The room is reserved in name of Carol Stevens, MOC. Phone number is: 956-969-2565.

We will be there during the time frame of 2 - 4, which they consider their "early bird". Your meal, all you can eat, INCLUDING drink will be $5.39 per person, plus tax. That is the senior citizens rate, by the way. At about 4 they bring out the dinner foods, like baby back ribs. So, if we get together at 3 and chat for a while, then do your salad, you could be ready for the main meal about 4! No matter, the food at this place has been good every time we have gone, over 2 different Winter Texan seasons.

I must call a week before with numbers, so, all of you that plan on attending need to post your name and number of diners here so, I have a count.

See ya on the 21st, Golden Coral, Westlaco.

Cheers,

Carol
