storage doors sag
I assume I am not alone with the problem of the storage doors on the side of the Monty sagging....??? Because they sag, the locks don't reach up to the catch on the frame and don't stay shut tight. Anyone find a solution?
Someone at a dealer said to remove them and bend (straighten) them and then reinstall them. Seems like a pain to do.
Thanks for any help.

Sorry, I have an '06 3400 and no sagging doors.....Doesn't seem normal to me, unless the kids have been swinging on them..In fact, this is the first I have heard of this.....

Yes they sag!!! I put the locks on the bottom and that helped. You can also get longer catches. The problem is there is lots of slop in the hinge, just open the door and lift it up and down and see how much play there is, even the lock holes are can be off enough to not catch,as in my case

We had a 05 3400 that did the same thing. To cure the problem I cut a small strip of wood and pop riveted it in place. There was a lot of slop in the doors. We had a 01 3295 that had no problems with the doors. Now we have a new one and so far no problems with the doors. Just a bad microwave. Keystone stepped up and replaced it.

I think this may be the first time I've heard of this issue also. No problem with our older rig.
Thanks for sharing your situation. Let us know how you solve your problem.

We have a 2000 and the doors don't sag. I can't visualize what you've described.

I also do not understand what sag means.. Do the doors bend?? are they warped?? Looked at our doors and can't imagine what sag means.. There is some up and down play in the hinge but does not cause a problem..is that what you mean. I don't see how a slight up and down movement would cause the latchs not to latch.. Maybe the wrong hing assembly was installed???

Ours sags too. We have to lift up on the left door for it to be latched and locked. Just part of the routine.

If you open the door and grasp it where the latches are you can lift the door up and down. our was excessive enough that the door would unlatch while travelling. I suspect that when they rolled the hinges it was too large an opening so the hingepin was too loose. It also looked like that when they drilled the holes for the latch it was cut too high. RV parts books list under locks longer lock cams

We always lock the compartment doors when traveling. Maybe that is why we never noticed it. We lock them because we had the doors on our SOB camper come open in travel and just got into the habit...

The door 'sag' is on the driver side doors that swing horizontally - 2 doors in the opening. So when they sag, the lock tabs barely catch on the edge. So a few bounces down the road and they go loose. I always lock them but the one without the lock never catches, so the locked door holds them shut - most of the time. I think 2 or 3 times even the lock jiggled/bounced enough to come completely open while driving down the road. Now that I am trying to remember the doors, I can't think of how it all fits together, but the sag does cause a problem somehow!?!?!!

I now understand the Sag issue. There is a lot of wiggle room in both directions on those doors. We have the OEM latches and have not had the problem. They do latch securely. I think the problem can be solved with longer latches that can be had at camper world or a RV store. Think I will buy some and change them out as a preventitive measure

Put on a longer latch and have not had the problem since.
I have towed over 9,000 miles since replacing.

I think that I would remove the small rivet at the bottom of the hinge. Raise the plug until the door is in its proper position. Reinstall a rivet ,or screw. Bill

I was having a leak problem while in Goshen and the Service Center replaced the weatherstripping around those doors and all fits tight now. Of course, as I said earlier, I did not have the problem with sagging....

Had the same problem. Went to Camping World (or a dealer will have them) and got new latches with a longer blade. I didn't swap the entire latch unit, I just removed the screw and swapped in the longer blade. That was more than a year ago and it's still working.
Maybe Keystone will see this and start using longer latches.
