Couch Removal

Has anyone removed their couch? If so, does it come apart to make it easier to get out of the door?

Seems to depend on the year and your model's layout. We got ours out in one piece others have taken theirs apart. We used three good sized guys and took our time. It was close, but doable.

We took mine out in one piece, no problem. I think we set it on the end or close to that and big Chris, 6,5 and 240 pounds just set it out. Then he set the new one in. If you won't to come and get him we loan him out once in a while.

Used to be the backs came off the furniture. You had to really pull hard, straight up. Then, move each piece out the door.. Still needed strong people to manage.

I am pretty sure my 3725 is fastened down somewhere. Even if the back came off I think it would be a chore to get out that door.

Removed ours a few months ago (two of em), backs came off, not very heavy, take of cushions, and remove back, back is a one person job out the door, bottom is two people, but very doable. Ours were not bolted down.

Tom: Thanks for the tip! Tanner got a bath today and he is now lounging watching football.

Joe: The couch is held down with 2 screws, easy to remove them. I don't think the back comes off. This style couch the whole back pivots over when making it into the bed. Will try tomorrow as it is raining to much today.

Dick: Wish we could come to Quartzite this year. Would be nice being in the warmer weather.

Took the couch out today, very easy. The back of the couch does lift off, there is a little clip on each side that you have to release and then it lifts right off. Thanks Carol for the tip!! So much more room now with it gone. Wish we would have removed it a long time ago. Now just have to wait for our 2 new Lazy-Boys to get here!

We kept the air mattress so if the grandkids want to spend the night we can just throw it on the floor and inflate it.

Slink,

It is a futon. It has been in the down "bed" position for years, we never use it as a couch.

I bought it in Ann Arbor at a really good futon store. Bought the best mattress I could find. I love my futon mattress. Best bed ever!
