Traveling to Kansas

We will be traveling to Olathe KS to see family. We will then head over to Gladstone MO for more family before we head to South Dakota. Any suggestions on campgrounds or RV parks in or near those areas? We are Good Sam and Passport America members but haven't had any luck finding anything less than about 30 minutes away from either place. If you have a nice place close to Mt Rushmore I would like to know about it also.

We've used Lake Paradise Resort on the east side (is one place where you need a water pressure regulator) and we stay at either a state or COE park at Clinton Lake in Lawrence, Ks when we go to a NASCAR race or have other business in KC. Neither fits your needs because they aren't close, but they are good places to stay and are as close to where we go as anything else available.

Pat,

We will be workamping at Crazy Horse Memorial this summer and will be there starting today. It is about 20 to 30 min from Mt. Rushmore. We will be staying at the Heritage Village CG about a mile from Crazy Horse. If you stay there you will also be close to Custer State Park and other attractions.

Safe Travels,

Les

Still not a good answer, but there is a Suncatcher Lake RV park a few miles SW of Lansing. I was going to stay there but my daughter moved and we didn't go thru the area again. I think it may be 25 miles from Olathe tho.

Mount Rushmore KOA, really close. It is a big park, lots of things to do and pricey. Nice park.

There is a good RV park at Worlds of Fun which is near the Gladstone area. Not a big park so you will need reservations. Another park in the area is at Grain Valley, Mo. Name is Trailside RV Park.

Trailside is right on I-70 so the good news is it's easy to get into town and the bad news is the truck noise all night.

Rutlader's in Louisburg is fairly close to Olathe and isn't a bad park. We've also stayed several times at Basswood in Platte City and it is a pretty nice park. Finally, we are staying at Hillsdale Lake later this month, which is between Spring Hill and Ppark.aola, again, pretty close to Olathe. We've not been to Hillsdale before, but I think we have a good site at this COE
