Vanity Backsplash

These were just the stick-on type. Very easy to work with.

Had to order on-line through Home Depot. They were called "Smart Tiles". Very light weight. I think a 6 pack was under $60.00 with shipping.

What a neat product! After reading your post I have been doing some research on the "inter-web" and found "The Smart Tiles" website and see that you can also order samples at $2.00 a pop. I found it odd though that they don't seem to have all of the selections you can find on the Home Depot website.

I really think this is a great solution for the backsplash I have been wanting to install around our cooking area since we bought our rig, i.e. easy to work with, peel and stick and lite weight. I will be going to our local Home Depot today to see if or what they have in stock.

Once I get going on the project, I will post photos. Thanks for the information in the post and the inspiration!

Jack

Jack, you won't be sorry if you go with the "Smart Tile". They were extremely easy to cut and install. The material seemed to stick really good. And you are correct about the weight. I am always picky with my mods if they are adding any weight.

We used Smart tiles and ordered direct from factory. They were like 60.00 for 6 tiles. Great stuff. You did a nice job also.

Where the different pieces comes together, do you grout, just like regular tile, or so you cut it so one side or the other retains the pre made grout? Just a thought. Happy Trails, Steve

It will be obvious when you actually get them in your hands how they go up. One grout line overlaps the other. Prior to installing them I suspected these intersections of grout lines would be visible. As long as you line everything up straight they disappear. I can't find any of my overlaps now.

Steve and Susie,
Here are a couple of links on how to install the product:

From Home Depot

From Smart Tiles

Pretty informative and looks very straight forward and simple. Hope this helps.
