Hot Water Heating Element

Has anybody ever changed a hot water heater element?

Never changed one in a RV, but did in a hot tub. It is similar to changing the anode rod, just unhook the two electric wires and use a large socket to remove heater element.

Mine was a little hidden - seems like I had to move a plastic cover or something out of the way to see it.

I had to remove the plastic cover and also loosen the propane feed to get it out. That is the area you need to be careful. The heater element had a warning sticker with regards to the propane tube.
Good luck.
