Awning Fuse keeps blowing

Hi everyone! We recently purchased a 2019 381TH Montana High Country and on our second trip we had a fuse blow for our awning lights. We found the fuse box for the switch (in the cabinet above the microwave behind a panel) and replaced the fuse and the awning lights worked great! Then on our next trip, within minutes of using the awning lights, the fuse blew again. Has anyone experienced this issue before or know why this could possibly continue to happen? We plan to take it in for service since it's still under warranty but would love to know if there is a quick easy fix so we don't have to wait forever for the service shop! Thank you in advance!

My guess would be an intermittent short, possibly a frayed wire that only touches a ground occasionally due to vibration or shaking or maybe a screw that pierced the insulation of a wire. Those kinds of problems can be hard to find.

I agree with Bill. You have a short in it and it can and probably will be hard to find.

Thank you! Sounds like a job for the service department. Possibly we should ask them to rewire the awning lights?

Test it thoroughly when you pick it up at the dealer. Have them show you what was wrong

I agree with asking them to show what they found. They may not be able to repeat an intermittent problem and just assume it doesn't really exist. Or assume that in the process of troubleshooting they did something to fix it.

Was it raining when you were using them? On are SOB we had a problem with are awing lights and it only did it when it was wet out had to the dealer and they could never get it to do of course when it was still under warranty. I looked at it and found the weather connector was cracked and would get water in it causing a short.

It was raining, we may replace the fuse one more time and check the connector and see if that is the issue. Thank you!
