Raising & Lowering Windows
Looking for suggestions to help with the sliding windows in my 2006 344RT Monty. The vertical sliding windows are getting very hard to slide up or down, especially up. It seems that they "catch" on something after about 3/4" of movement, so I know they're clear of the window latches.
Any suggestions??

Try getting some teflon dry spray lubricant. as soon as you spray it, it will dry and leave a teflon coat to slide easier.

The window I absolutely HATE to try and raise is the little one near the stove. I have siliconed them before and have tefloned them also in the past. Seems if the trailer is just a scosche, (I know, not a word), off level they are a pain in the keester to open. Good luck.....

T have been to some rv shows and went into other brand units. I have found some to have four or more of those fingernail busters as my wife calls the windows. I would like to know the name of the company that makes them. I think they work until they are installed in an rv and any type of pressure is put on the frame.

The windows by the chairs in the back of our trailer work just fine. The two in the ends of the slide don't work very good. I do have to open the one by the dinette a couple of times a year for the Kozy World heater hose and it dosen't ever move easy. Hopefully that problem will be resolved soon.

In my Monty we have horizontal sliding windows that are the pains to open. They seem to stick and give us fits all the time, especially the kitchen one nearest the sink. The smaller taller ones are better (in the dining area and the living room).
We aren't having any problems with any vertical ones, but I can imagine that over time this is a possibility. I'll be watching them, trying to keep the runners clean and needing some dry lube over time. But if they are tight, lubricant could help but they can still be tight.
It would be great to read everyone's tricks for these.

Racerjoe, we are waiting for SOB to show up in Quartzsite. My brother-in-law has one and it has been trouble free for two years now. No electrical problems, no door problems, no Lippert pump problem. It has my attention right now. Also no sticky windows. We will look at it next week when it comes in.

I had the same problem with a couple of mine... fixed them for now..I took a screwdriver and backed the screws off along the bottom and then just turned them back in until they just touched the frame. Now the windows work better...

Dry Teflon spray and backing the screws off "a skoch"... thanks everyone, and Happy New Year. I can't wait to get the Monty out from under the cover in the spring... It's definitely winter here in Kansas...
