Broken Spring Bracket--repaired

Croft Trailers of Grain Valley, MO repaired my broken spring bracket. It was so out of whack, I had to use a come-along to pull it back into alignment. My friend here in Grain Valley brought a small welder and tacked it into place so that I could get it to the shop.

At the shop, they did major reinforcement of the rear spring brackets on each side. I will make some pictures later after I get the rig back from the dealer for other repairs.

What we found was that the first bracket replacement weld was a bad weld. Whatever I may have hit was the final straw. There was evidence of flexing or movement in the weld. Barring something traumatic, I should not have this problem again.

Stiles, Small world. Croft Trailer in Lee's Summit repaired mine replacing the existing bracket with a much longer and heavier bracket that they fabricated themselves. They felt the cause of my second failure was that the mobil guy who fixed it in Charlottesville may have gotten the steel too hot. Jim

Croft is the best! I had them make my boat trailer a 3 axle, and they have done all my trailer work. I bought my rear carrier rack from them.
Glad you got it all repaired Stiles.
