Fuel additives

After seeing the thread about which oil to use and how long to use it I am wondering if everyone/anyone besides me uses fuel additives. We add POWER SERVICE DIESEL FUEL SUPPLEMENT to our bulk storage and I carry it in my tool box for use on the road. I use it for the added lubricity it gives and we have almost no fuel pump issues and only occasionally an injector failure on our Class 8 trucks.

We have a 2006 Duramax with well over 300,000 miles on it and it did suffer an oil leak in the turbocharger but that is not fuel related. So far it has had no fuel related problems. Another Duramax (2015) only has about 180,000 miles on it and it to has had no fuel related problems. The 2016 Power Stroke is too new to have any issues with only a little over 80,000 miles on it.

We have added Air Dog fuel pumps to the Shivalay's account Generous Motors did not see fit to supply them with a lift pump at or near the tank. The fuel pumps have two filters on them so we change all of the fuel filters about once a year or when the computer says it's time.

I am aware there are a number of good additive brands on the market and wonder what or if anyone has experience with them in their tow vehicles.

Ford has a C-tain and performance booster product I use when towing.

Well over 100,000 and have never used anything. I do use Seafoam for the gas I store for the generators, however.

At one time we owned a 2005 F250 6.0L diesel. After the fourth time having the turbo rebuilt due carbon build up in the vanes, my Ford service manager suggested I use Diesel Kleen Cetane due to the poor diesel fuel we have here in California. We had no further turbo problems after I started using cetane. I continue to use it with our 2015 Ford SD.

I have used Diesel Kleen for 87,000 miles with no problems. Whether it's the best or not I don't know but we do have poor quality diesel in some parts of the country. If we were fueling at the same location all the time it might be different but when traveling you don't know what you are getting and the cetane boost in Diesel Kleen is like adding octane boost for a gas engine.

I have been using Archoil Oil treatment every oil change and Archoil fuel treatment every fill up. 147,000 miles on Ford 6.0 and have no engine issues. Recent Blackstone oil analysis shows engine in great condition.

Been using the same product for years. Supposed to also lubricate the injectors. Our dealer recommends using, for our model year.

Ford dealer recommended it when we purchased our 08 F-350.
