Ford F-450 tires

I think there was a post some time ago about the tires on the new 2008 F-450 but couldn't find it in the archives. We almost bought one but somebody beat us to it. Then I remember something about the post that the OEM tires are all that is available for it. I went on all the major tires companies webs but couldn't get a match on the size from anyone but Continental. Does anyone know if there are other tires besides Continental that make 225-70-19.5 G load range? Just for future reference. Thanks.

I have an older 450.... a 2002.... It has the 19.5 tires. I had a hard time finding the tires. Actually I found plenty of tires they just had to be ordered. I ended up with Goodyears on the front and Bridgestones on the rear after trying an off brand with all 6! What a mess that was.

There are plenty of tires but you do have to look around.

For 19.5" tires and wheels take at look here: www.ricksontruck.com

Lots of choices depending on how much you want to spend!

I have been shopping for the future need for new tires for my F450. I found the best price at the dealer. Yes Michelin among others makes the 19.5 inch rim size tire.

On edit Costco quoted me Michelins at $236.00 today.

Kmh3212,

Thanks for the update. I will be needing some new tires in a couple of years. I had a real hard time finding some last time I replaced. Of course the price will be a bit more by then but still nice to know.

We don't have the F450 Dennis but the 18" on our F350. It came with Contintental and the first time we replaced them after about 45,000 miles we wanted Goodyear but Goodyear was on strike and the only ones we could get at that time were more Continental. They never did ride right and we had them balanced several times during our next 45,000 miles. Yesterday we replaced them all and what a difference in the ride. In just the short 10 miles that we rode with the new Goodyear we both could feel a real big difference. I sure hope there is another choicde for you because even though we did get a lot of miles out of the Continental, they are lousy tires.

Thanks for all the replies. We didn't buy the 450. Got a 350 and that came with 17" Goodrich's. So hopefully we won't have to worry about tires for a while. Don't know if it's the tires or not but sure rides nicer than the older truck though.

We got a new F-350 dually 2 weeks ago and it also rides better than the F-250 we had. I thought it would be a stiffer ride and was pleasantly surprised.
