RGV, Mission to Harlingen area, hundreds of parks, all levels of goodies. We are in Retama Village in Mission, there are at least 6/7 parks within 5 miles.

Try Goose Island State Park in Rockport texas. It is about 35 miles up the coast from Corpus.

I second the RGV. Am heading there next week to "Bit-O-Heaven", a nice park and less expensive than most in Donna. Based on last year - all parks have some to LOTS of vacancies. Weather was great (unlike the year prior). We love the Square Dancing there!

Question about Goose Island. Is there a time limit on your stay when camping? Daily fee charged if you don't go in and out of the park?

FYI
Just arrived to warm weather this week, albeit foggy mornings and some light rain. Am only paying $1K for 3 months, plus monthly water/sewer and electric costs (maybe 25?). But only get a small concrete patio with a grass site for that price.

Check on the water. On the news tonight folks in Corpus standing in line for bottled water. Something about an asphalt plant leaking poisons into the water supply.

It is normally 10 degrees warmer in the Valley than Corpus Christi

Thanks to all. We have a monthly starting 12/19 at VIP-La Feria. Hope it's great. We are newbies so we are learning a lot as we go. Seems like Good Sam ratings vary a lot. Understand the top ratings are hard to achieve but some we have been in don't measure up to there higher ratings in our opinion.

We stayed at Gateway RV Park in Raymondville for 6 yrs. I think the
rate in 2014 Was about $725.00.for 3 months plus elec. No pool but
lots of activities everyday and friendly people. Would be there
again but unable to travel now. About 50 mi. to So Padre Island,
35 to Mexico and Don Wes Flea Market. Used FM roads whenever
possible. Much calmer than highways.
