Crazy, back a year or so ago a Lippert Tech clearly told me to simply add Dextron III to the clear fluid and it would be fine!!

This is just stupid. Keystone put a placard on the reservoir as to what type fluid is being used.
Good grief this is not rocket science!

Nor ours - that's why I called Lippert. Agree that it is stupid that Keystone didn't put a placard on the reservoir tank, and/or that various fluids are to be used.

That’s what I am talking about they need to put one on. As there is nothing on them now.

Just my 2 cents from my Heavy Equipment wrenching days. Mixing fluids would be the only reason I would change it. Hydraulic fluid shouldn't need to be changed without some form of contamination. On a Cat 349F trackhoe running 12-14 hours a day, we generally changed the fluid at between 3000-6000 hours, this is due to heat degradation and contamination. This was based off of oil sampling at every service. The slide outs and jacks on our rigs don't generate enough heat, to degrade the oil and there shouldn't be any contamination unless you open up the system. If you live in humid areas you may get some water condensate in the tank, but you should be close to full when retracted so this would be minimal. Low humidity areas (such as the southwest) wouldn't have this issue.
If you are worried about it, before you go to all that trouble, I'd take a sample and send it in. I do it on my truck through our local cat dealer, but I know Amsoil and other companies offer this service. Purchase the kit, pull a sample with a syringe, send it in with the fluid type and they will tell you how it's doing. I pull samples for engine oil, coolant, and trans fluid every oil change to make sure I don't have issues going on with my truck since I'm passing through 336k on the old girl.
Just my thoughts, but to each their own.

Good discussion. I'm fairly new at this as well, been a full time since June of 2018. I have a 2017 Montana 3950 BR. Have had multiple issues that have delayed us, to include water leaking in through the aft AC return, power/battery issues, and lately an issue with the hydraulic Jack's settling making an annoying tick tick tick tick tick tick sound.
After reading all this great info, I'm wondering if I should change mine to stop the damn ticking noise lol.
Thanks all.

Changing the fluid will do nothing to stop the noise. This is the link to the Lippert page telling how to stop the stiction noise. No need to change the fluid, just follow the instructions. I used the CAT fluid, but others have used the fork oil with the same results. https://www.lci1.com/images/support/lipsheet/0295.pdf

What strikes me is the Lipperts' answers seem to be all over the map. Or is it that incomplete information is being presented?

Thank you sir. We are "residents" in box elder as well. That could be a whole new discussion. Love to hear your thoughts on it.
