We have an OEM Onboard Onan 5500 and it has run both of our 15K ACs at the same time numerous times.

I use 2 of the Predator 3500 Inverter units with a Firman parellel kit. It has a 50 amp circuit breaker protected plug and a 30 amp one as well. Works great for me.

Ours is an add-on onan 5500 propane and it runs both without struggling.

so any generator with over 6500 watts? reason for asking, its 90+ degrees and our home AC unit crapped yesterday. I have 30amp service for the RV but only 1 AC running, they say we cant get a new AC compressor or unit real fast, trying to have a back up plan. running both ac's in the RV would be great.

looking for a portable at Home, Menard, lowes, etc

My two total 7000 starting and 6000 running and they run everything. I don’t think it would run the convection oven with everything else. Haven’t tried but it runs both ac’s fridge and microwave. Tv’s ect...

Basically you have two options. Get one large or two smaller generators with sufficient output to handle the starting current of the two AC units. If you want to run other loads in addition simultaneously you need to account for that in sizing the generator(s). Your other option is to install soft starts in your AC units allowing you to use smaller generators for that purpose.

Seems like it might be better to have a 50 amp power hook up at your house?

that would probably take just a long to get the new AC unit installed.

Gander had one capable on the shelf, even has the 50 amp outlet. She is loud though!!

I just got the 3500 Predator to power my 2955. Checked yesterday, it is pulling less than 1100 watts running the AC. Now on startup it bogged a little, then settled down right away. The refrigerator and converter were also on, but not sure if cycled on or off. I am sure two of these gens would run everything all at once in your rig.

Your problem is the grey/dark color of your unit. (Besides the minimal insulation Keystone and everyone puts in them). We've a single 15k AC 2010 3445RL Hickory and can easily run the one AC off our HF inverter genny or even a 20 amp shore power line (nothing else with it though). We've been in up to 114 degree heat in CA a few years back and survived on that one AC unit with a couple of tweaks. First, get double LAYER Mylar bubble insulation (Amazon, Lowes, etc.), cut it to fit your windows and slide it in behind the curtains. You can easily piece it together with transparent tape. Leave your awning out as much as you possibly can - it shades a lot of your unit. Doing this, we got between 18 and 20 degree drop in inside temp - but then ours is mostly white. With fans going, that's nice, but doable.

I've said it many times - I seriously do NOT understand why manufacturers think grey, tan, black or anything but white is good for an RV of any kind. They do not put insulation in them worth squat - and they can't! The walls and roof are too thin to do that. If they did, there wouldn't be the room we all want inside!

We've one of them and you're correct! HF (and their China suppliers) have upped their quality game for some time.

It was 89 degrees here and sunny on Friday. I ran both of my Predators with the Firman parellel kit and had my 50 amp cord plugged in. With both air conditioners running, each generator was showing 1450 +/- watts on the meter. I was able to start the microwave as well as the ceiling fan. With all of these items running, the meters were showing 2050+/- each.

Look into adding microair easy start soft start onto your AC's. You can run a 15000 btu ac on a 2000 watt generator run 2 AC's on a 3500 watt generator. You can see more information on them on You Tube

Do you have it in your basement? Snorkel or how do you store and connect? Is it quiet?

I've run all three of my 15k ACs on the 5500W Onan. Each one is approx 1750W. I started one at a time. I switched off all the breakers except the three ACs and ran the other circuits off my 2000W inverter. When I checked the output voltage with all three running, it was around 112V. I wouldn't normally run three, but I thought I'd test the capabilities. Keep in mind, I've rewired and added a separate subpanel for the interior circuits so I could utilize the inverter on all the GP circuits. In the process, I was able to free up spaces in the main panel for the 3rd AC breaker and ditch the load sharing devices.

I built a hitch carrier for it on my pickup. I have a short bed and a slider hitch and toolbox, so it wouldn’t fit in the bed. Also wired the Monty for a second auxiliary 50 amp plug up front. Haven’t traveled with this set up yet, but should be good to go. I’m pretty impressed with this generator.
