Picking up our new Montana!

We're about to officially join the Montana Owners Club this Saturday when we pickup our new 2005 Montana 3400RL. It's great to be able to join other Montana owners.

Our shake-down trip will be to Pahrump, Nevada over Labor day weekend.
We'll be giving the AC a good workout.

Can anyone give us some advice on Generators? We're considering 2 Honda EU2000s in series. Is that adequate for the 15AC?

Hi Jim & Kathy. Welcome to the forum. We just picked up our 04 3400RL a week ago. We're hoping for a local one night trip this weekend to shake out bugs before we spend any serious time on the road. I can't help you with the generators. However, connecting them in series doesn't strike me as right. I'm sure someone will be along shortly who can help. Again, welcome aboard.

Gordon

Welcome aboard, the Honda 2000 will not be able to handle your needs, unless you use two of them in parrell. They is a parrell jumper for two HondaU2000 that will be able to handle 50 amp service and it will be able to run your AC and anything else. by using only 1 genrator you want be able to handle your AC requires too much start up amps for the compressor. Hope that helps a little.

Welcome to the forum. The Honda's will work just fine for your 3400, I have two and when used I run them in parallel. I made the parallel cables myself, lots of information on this and much cheaper than the factory ones. I also have a aux fuel tank for extended use, works very well and they are quiet.

Thanks for the information and for making us feel welcome. We were told that 2 Honda 2000s would work for us but it's reassuring to hear it from someone who's actually used them.

Where did you find the info to make the parallel cables and the aux. fuel tank? This sounds like something we could use since we dry camp in Quartzsite, Arizona every year.

Welcome to the club. You will be trilled with the 3400.

We ordered our 3400 with generator prep and installed a Honda 6000 in the compartment. It will run both ACs and everything else in the 3400 at once.
